What is Charted Accountant Course?

A Qualified CA with 3 years of experience either in Self Practice or related Job is eligible to enrol in PhD/Research Studies in 105 Universities approved by UGC, IIT Chennai, IIT Mumbai and all IIMs; besides, also eligible for ACCA Qualification with the EXEMPTION of 9 Papers (F1 to F9) and 3 years of Practical Training and may join directly at STRATEGIC PROFESSIONAL LEVEL (FINAL LEVEL), which has only 4 Papers; by clearing the same. An Indian Chartered Accountant could also become an ACCA Member and can have Global Exploring both in Practice and employment anywhere in the World.

Chartered Accountancy could be a profession that imparts the most effective of technical skills in accounting, auditing, taxation, financial and management areas. Chartered Accountants today, have occupied top management positions in government & private sector. They also render professional and consultancy/advisory services within the areas of financial reporting and auditing, taxation, finance, and management accounting. Eligibility:

+2 Pass (HSC) of any Group or Equivalent either Regular or Distance Mode from the recognized by either State or Central Government Institution/Board. Since 01 Jan 2021, even X std passed, XI std students also may register for CA Foundation; but, they can appear for the exam only after appearing in +2 Board Exams or Passing the same.

Validity of Registration:

4 Years and Revalidation is not permitted.

Only through Online. Offline Mode (Manual Application) not available.

Exams held in the months:

May/June and November/December every year.

Study Period:

Minimum 04 months from the Date of Registration.

  • Paper 1 : Accounting (100 Marks) - 3 Hours
  • Paper 2 : Business laws (100 Marks) - 3 Hours
  • Paper 3 : Quantitative Aptitude (100 Marks) - 2 Hours
  • Paper 4 : Business Economics (100 Marks) - 2 Hours

Medium:

English and Hindi.

Type of Exam:

Paper 1 & 2 are Descriptive/Subjective and have No Negative Marks for any Wrong Answer. Paper 3 & 4 are Objective (MCQ) Types. All the 4 Papers are PEN & PAPER Mode and not the Computer Based Exam.

Passing Criteria:

40% in each Paper and 50% in aggregate.

Negative Marks:

Only in Paper 3 & 4; for each Wrong Answer, 0.25 Marks will be deducted from the total in the respective Paper.

Exemptions:

No Exemption of Papers available, if failed. All the Papers should be re-appeared in case of fail even in a single Paper.

Eligibility:

CA Foundation Pass / UG or PG in Commerce Stream with 55% aggregate of marks (excluding Language Papers) and Non-Commerce students with 60% of marks (excluding Language Papers) / CMA Intermediate Pass / CS Executive Pass.

Validity of Registration:

5 Years and can be revalidated for 5 years if required on expiry, with revaluation fees of Rs. 400. Revaluation is permitted only once for Intermediate course.

Mode of Registration & Payment:

Only through Online and no Offline Mode is available.

Total Numbers of Paper:

06 and it has been divided into 2 Groups with 3 Papers in each.

Rule for Appearing the Exams: Students are at very ease to appear Either of the Groups or both the Groups simultaneously as per their will and need.

Additional Academic Course Registration facility*:

After Registering for CA Inter, to pursue higher qualifications to get the Dual Degree, a student may Register for BCom (Accounts and Finance) either in IGNOU, New Delhi or B.Com/BBA in Bharathiyar University, Coimbatore with EXEMPTION OF PAPERS through Distance Mode. Only 4 Papers should be cleared to get a BCom/BBA Degree from the same.

Study Period:

Minimum 8 months for Foundation Mode students and 8 months for Graduate/Direct Entry students.

Type of Exam:

There will be 30% case scenario/case-study based MCQ’s and 70% descriptive question in all the six papers of Intermediate Examination

Passing Criteria:

40% in each Paper and 50% aggregate in each Group if appeared for any One; if appeared for both the Groups simultaneously, 40% in each Paper and 50% aggregate in Total Marks (400/800).

Negative Marks:

No Negative Marks in both Subjective and Objective Papers for Wrong Answers.

Exemptions:

If a student has appeared in all the papers in a Group and fails in one or more papers but secures a minimum of 60% marks in any paper or papers of that Group, he/she shall be exempted for that paper or papers in which he/she has secured 60% or more marks for the immediately next three following examinations. The student will be required to obtain a minimum of 40% marks in each of the remaining paper(s) and a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate of all the papers including the exempted paper(s) to pass the Group. If the student is not able to pass the said Group in the following three attempts and has exhausted the exemption granted to him/her, the student may opt for continuing of the said exemption to the subsequent examinations provided that he/she shall be required to obtain a minimum of 50% marks in each of the remaining paper or papers of that Group in order to pass that Group.

Exams held in the months of:

May and November every year.

Eligibility:

CA Intermediate Pass (both Group 1 & 2).

Eligibility to appear for the Exam:

Registered for the final course + Completed Practical Training six months before the first day of the month in which the examination is to be held + Completed Advanced Integrated Course of Information Technology & Soft Skills (Advanced ICITSS + Qualified all 4 Self- Paced Online Modules.

Validity of Registration:

10 years and can be revalidated every 10 years if required on expiry with a fee of Rs. 500.

Mode of Registration & Payment:

Only through Online and no Offline Mode is available.

Total Numbers of Paper:

06 and it has been divided into 2 Groups with 3 Papers in each.

Rule for Appearing the Exams:

Students are very liberal to appear Either of the Groups or both the Groups simultaneously according to their will and wish.

Additional Academic Course Registration facility*:

After Registering for CA Final, to pursue the higher qualifications, to get the Dual Degree, a student may Register for M.Com (Finance & Taxation) either in IGNOU, New Delhi or M.Com/MBA in Bharathiyar University, Coimbatore with EXEMPTION OF PAPERS through Distance Mode. Only 5 Papers should be cleared to get a M.Com/MBA Degree from the same.

  • Paper 3 : Advanced Auditing, Assurance and Professional Ethics (100 Marks)
  • Group II - Paper 4 : Direct Tax Laws and International Taxation (100 Marks)
  • Paper 5 : Indirect Tax Laws (100 Marks)
  • Paper 6 : Integrated Business Solutions (100 Marks)

Medium :

English and Hindi.

Type of Exam:

There will be 30% case scenario/ case-study based MCQs and 70% descriptive questions in all the six papers of Final Examination.
Assessment for Paper-6: Integrated Business Solutions (Multidisciplinary Case Study with Strategic Management) which is entirely case study based, would be open book examination. Assessment for all the other five papers would be through closed book examination.

Passing Criteria:

40% in each Paper and 50% aggregate in each Group if appeared for any One; if appeared for both the Groups simultaneously, 40% in each Paper and 50% aggregate in Total Marks (400/800).

Negative Marks:

No Negative Marks in both Subjective and Objective Papers for Wrong Answers.

Exemptions:
